Joey Panic @ Monte
Carlos- Friday, June 12
Monte Carlos is a brand-spankin'-new
grill that also doubles as a metal bar. Located in Arlington on Cooper
and Arbrook, it blends in with the atmosphere- regular, everyday
businesses. But it isn't- it's a metal bar, and since it's a grill,
it's all ages. Oh yes, and their waitress was dressed Hawaiin with a
thong sticking out- very sexy.

As for Joey Panic (the third band of
four- if I'd known there were going to be more I would have tried to
attend the whole damn show), they were a metal band
self-described as 'urban angst.' My first thought upon laying eyes on
them was that their lead singer, Joey Panic, looked like Kid Rock! Not
only that, but he actually fit the image- he was an American Bad-Ass,
and so was everyone else in the band. Bad-asses all around. Their music
had that half-comedy/half-hatred kind of feel you get with a lot of
bands that can laugh at how fucked up the world is, funny, yet
disturbing at the same time. They rocked out with some really wierd-ass
songs, like "I Fell In Love With A Deaf Girl," "Let's Talk About
Suicide," "Run Away," and "Birthday."
