Pimpadelic, Do Unto Others
Genre: White trash hip hop rock
"Hey, it's been two fuckin years, and now that Dirty K's back, I want
my CD, you white trash motherfuckers!"
-Truer words never said it than the intro to this whack-ass CD! Pimpadelic is what happens when white trash
meets black
trash- a band that raps hard, and rocks harder! It's song after song of
catchy, hard-rocking lyrics to get down to!
Pimpadelic is the underdog's hero- throwing parties that bring people
from all walks of life- white, black, rapper, rocker- everyone comes
out of their trailer home to get fucked up with Pimpadelic. Their first song, "Want some get some,"
reflects their overall tough-guy attitude, like their shirts, "I'm from
Texas... fuck you!"- "If you
want some, come and get some, if
you're big enough, bad enough, take
some!" Filled with cursing,
piercing, hell-raising, obnoxity, drug references, sex references, and
other obseneties, Pimpadelic's CD is an ode to living life to the
fullest and not giving a fuck, "Put 'em up in the air, if you don't
care, say 'fuck no, we don't care!' if you're out for a good time and
nothing more, let me see your ass out on the dance floor!" (Life of the
Party) The CD is surprisingly catchy and unbelievably fun. I actually
felt a little guilty listening to it, being a corporate tool and a nerd
to boot! All these motherfuckers care about is partying, check out song
number 6, "Neverclean," - "Don't you care about the things that they
say? Fuck 'em! It doesn't matter anyway! Never been fresh or clean,
never been fresh or clean, never been fresh or clean... I'm a bad
motherfucker if you know what I mean!" or "Do Unto Others," the title
track- "You know you want to but you just can't seem to be the kind of
man that you want to be, you try to hide it but you just can't see that
I'm the man that you just can't be!" Personally, I think the song that
embodies the whole theme of Pimpadelic is "Live fast Die,"- "Live fast,
live fast, live fast... live fast and dii-iie!"
Even though half of the songs are
nothing more than little clips, it's still a nineteen song oddysey. The
first half of the CD is all about being a bad ass, but about halfway
through it descends into a depressive, melancholy state. "Eyes Without
A Face" ... is almost beautiful! It's hard to believe it was made by
the same band. "Lying Through
Your Teeth," a song accusing a girl of cheating, is more Pimpadelic's
style, "fuck you anyway!" Followed by "Wanted," where he tells you why
he's wanted (and there's quite a few reasons). It slows down with
"Drunk Again," speeds back up with "Anarchy," which is followed by the
famous quote from Scarface, "First you get the money, then you get the
power, then you get the women!" "High Price of Low Livin"- 'it'll be
alright, alright!' and "Thank You," 'every day i see the sun come up,
i'd like to thank you for fucking it up!"
For being the most bad-ass bad-asses this side of Kid Rock, and for
being from Fort Worth (no big surprise there- everyone likes to fight
and fuck!) I want to give Pimpadelic's "Do Unto Others" a solid ****!
