Dean Strickland, Some Girls
To Blame
Genre: All of them! (believe it or not)
Dean Strickland plays everything! This
whole cd is him and a couple of other guys, all playing several
instruments, with synths and drum programming. And it's actually really
good. I'm surprised I haven't heard him on the edge yet! The music,
(all twenty-four songs!) is very wide-ranging, from alt-rock
(Please Tell Me That I've Suffered Enough, I'll Remember You Always
(And The Irony), I've Learned), to blues (She's got problems, Some
Girls To Blame, There's No One As Beautiful As You), to classic rock
(Rachel, I'm Very Sorry, The Charge Of Loving You) to punk (I'm
Wondering (Are You Paranoid), I Love You) to country (If You Want This
To End).
...and that's just the first half of
the CD!
Most of the songs
are love songs, in one form or the other. Can't stand the suspense? Buy
his CD and hear the other half!
For a diverse, well-made album, I give
Dean Strickland's Some Girls To Blame
a *** (of 4).
